FAQ

Meke Milk portable milk warmer designed for use to warm formula or breastmilk. Its advanced smart technology ensures that essential nutrients and antibodies are not compromised during feeding.

Our warmer is designed to protect the nutrients and antibodies in milk by gently heating the milk at a controlled temperature. When milk is heated too rapidly or at a high temperature, the heat can damage the proteins and enzymes that make the milk nutritious. Meke uses a technology that gently warms the milk without exposing it to direct heat, which helps protect its nutritional content.

Yes, we recommend filling the warmer with cool sterile water and heating the water when you're ready to serve. It is safe to heat premade formula bottles in the milk warmer however we would only suggest warming single serves as prepared formula as milk should not be kept warm for more than two hours according to the current guidelines.

Before use, ensure that you clean the warmer thoroughly. Then, turn on the device and make sure that it is fully charged to 100%. It is recommended to charge the device fully before heading out for the day for optimal use.

Pour in the liquid and set the temperature to your liking, with a maximum temperature of 50oC/122oF. The display will show the current temperature in the bottle once you set your preferred temperature. A tone will sound, and the device will maintain that heat for up to 9 hours until you turn off the power. Please do not keep milk warm for 9 hours, this should only be used for water.

Alternatively, you can use the warmer to heat liquid for approximately 4-5 cycles.

What temperature should I be setting the warmer at?

The recommended temperature to serve breastmilk or formula milk is 37ºC (98ºF) which is lukewarm and the natural temperature produced by mothers milk.

If you want your baby's milk to be warmer, it's recommended to set the temperature a few degrees higher, around 42ºC, since the warmer is programmed to display 2-3 degrees lower than its actual temperature

Why does the temperature fluctuate?

The temperature fluctuation is completely normal and is part of the warmer's process of heating the milk safely to ensure even heating and no hot spots. When the warmer reaches the set temperature, it will sound a beep to indicate it's ready

We have taken every measure to ensure that our product is safe for contact with milk.

We understand the importance of providing a safe and reliable product for families and have therefore chosen materials that undergo rigorous testing to ensure their safety. Tritan material used in our equipment is shatter-resistant, which means that it can withstand sudden temperature changes without breaking or cracking. As an added measure, Tritan is also BPA-free, ensuring that it is a safe and non-toxic material for warming milk. Our heating plate features a platinum silicone barrier that surrounds the SUS 316 food-grade stainless steel. Platinum silicone is a type of silicone that is considered to be of higher quality than other types of silicone, such as food-safe silicone. Platinum silicone is more durable, heat-resistant, and chemically resistant.

This combination of materials has been carefully selected for their durability and resistance to corrosion, ensuring that our product is not only safe, but also dependable for heating milk.

Our milk warmers have undergone rigorous testing and meets all the regulatory requirements for AU/NZ, EU10/2011, and CE standards, ensuring maximum quality and safety for all of our users.

To prevent any possible decrease in nutritional quality and potential contamination, it is not advisable to keep breastmilk or formula milk warmed for prolonged periods. It is essential to consume it within 2 hours of warming for optimal safety and nutrition for your infant. According to current guidelines, breastmilk should not be heated more than once.

If you require the warmer for an extended period of 4-8 hours, it is recommended to store your milk in a cooler bag until you are ready to heat it. It is crucial to adhere to food safety guidelines and industry best practices when storing and handling breastmilk.

The Meke Milk device comes with a USB type C cable, which you can use to charge it. However, you must use a 5V 2A adapter for charging and avoid using an iPhone charger as it has the potential to damage the power board. This device has a built-in 4400mAH battery that requires approximately 4-5 hours to get fully charged. For optimal usage, we suggest charging it to 100% before you head out for the day.

When using your warmer to retain heat, the battery life may last for 5-9 hours after one heat cycle, which gives you the advantage of keeping your water warm for an extended period. However, the battery life may vary depending on several factors such as the starting and target temperature, liquid volume, and room temperature. For instance, using 150ml at 37ºC would give you optimal battery life, whereas 300ml at 50ºC would provide the least. If you're using the warmer to heat freshly poured milk or water, your battery life will allow you to have 4-6 cycles based on usage.

Liquid Volume Set Temp Battery Life Set Temp Battery life
150ml 37ºC (98ºF) 9 hr 45ºC (113ºF) 6 hr
240ml 37ºC (98ºF) 7 hr 45ºC (113ºF) 5 hr
150ml 37ºC (98ºF) 7 hr 45ºC (113ºF) 4.5 hr

If you're using your warmer to heat freshly poured milk or water, your battery life will give you 4 - 6 cycles depending on usage. Please don't be concerned if the red light is on at 60% you still have a few hours left of usage

Maintaining the cleanliness of our warmers is extremely easy. Simply rinse them with warm water and soap after each use, then sterilise by pouring boiling hot water. However, if hot water isn't available when you're on the move, we suggest using Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide 3%, which can be either sprayed or poured into the bottle and left to dry in the air. This will be available for purchase through Meke Baby soon.
